There are a lot of tools you can employ to improve your general productivity while using a computer, yet nothing is arguably more efficient than that of using a good clipboard manager/assistant.
Rainclip is one such tool and, despite its non-impressive appearance, it boasts a lot of useful features meant to provide a whole lot more than just your average clipboard manager.
At first glance, Rainclip follows all the design patters of most similar tools. It allows you to keep a history of your clipboard entries (be them texts, images, or other sorts of files) and access them quickly.
The full list of clipboard entries can be accessed directly via a tray icon or a global keyboard shortcut (CTRL+SHIFT+V by default). For entries that are really important, you can organize them in various sections as snippets.
Up until now, nothing special. However, Rainclip has a few aces up its sleeve. For example, it allows you to fully synchronize your clipboard history between multiple computers (even if you're running different platforms such as Windows and macOS).
The synchronization process is designed with privacy and security in mind, and it actually uses your Google Drive as a storage unit for your clippings.
Other useful features include support for various actions that can be executed over the clipboard content with ease. You can the built-in ones or create new ones from scratch. This can save you a lot of time since it allows you to automatize various functions.
Rainclip also allows you to configure how the clipboard itself works for each individual application. For instance, you can exclude some apps from the history capturing process altogether. Last but not least, the app also sports two GUI themes with the now-obligatory Dark mode being one for them.
Even though it's a very new product, Rainclip is without a doubt a somewhat impressive clipboard assistant. It works great, it's lightweight, and it boasts enough features and customization options to make almost everyone happy.
